Meet Dr. Fields
David A. Fields, OD, is an optometrist at Bennett Walton Vision, providing expert care in preoperative planning, optics, and postoperative support for cataract, LASIK, PRK, EVO ICL, and custom lens replacement procedures.
Dr. Fields grew up in Houston, earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Before entering healthcare, Dr. Fields served in the United States Marine Corps, deploying with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit across multiple countries in the Pacific and Middle East. He later deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he participated in aerial and ground missions in support of combat operations. These experiences shape his disciplined, focused, and detail-oriented approach to patient care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Fields enjoys spending time with his fiancée Melissa, their dog Archer, and their cat Virgil. He also enjoys writing, fitness and strength training, reading philosophy, literature, and history, and exploring new places around Houston.
